    Simean69, you make wild assertions about the video (that people abuse access to data is demonstrably true) and you fantasise about how the ID and other schemes will work in practice. The biographical element of the ID system is to be built on the DWP’s existing database – hundreds of thousands will have access, over a million to ContactPoint and about the same to NHS spine. This is way more than can access the Police National Computer – where penalties and security don’t prevent dangerous abuse.

    funkyewan, we’re not trying to scare you or anyone into *opposing* the scheme – we’re using a scary but entirely plausible scenario to get people who think “if you’ve done nothing wrong, you’ve got nothing to fear” (or those who haven’t thought about what ‘ID cards’ will actually mean) to think a little. The government has misled the public again and again about its ID scheme. ‘Take Jane’ is just one thing NO2ID has done. Read our website or get involved with a local group to find out much more.

    It looks like the ID card policy has been halted in the UK. Why is the Labor Government so determined to implement this scheme ?

    have you not noticed they dont really jail people these days its total control take this from me the way there using Id and control is the same as the on going excperiment they started in prisons with tv sets, they dont have to give them work there happy no qustions asked living isd easy with your shut, and i suppose some rich person can have control, so you hit yourself in the toe

    I totally agree with you. The sad thing is, the world doesn’t work that way. If you want people to stop bothering you, you have to hurt them to the point where they get the message. You don’t want it to be that way, but that’s what it is. Some people need to be bludgeoned into good manners. Honesty: a whistle-blower uncovers wrongdoing or criminal activity.
